I work a population that has a variety of mental issues. They come to our facility from all over the US. I took them on a picnic day before yesterday and one clients reactions really opened my eyes to taking my home for granted. The Gulf Coast is incredibly beautiful, my drive to work is along a scenic highway over a beautiful body of water. The client was so excited about going to a park on a local waterway that it was like I was seeing it again for the first time. (insert contented sigh here)
I've also put up several new bird feeders at work and the spring feeding has begun!! Gold finch, Cardinals, house finch, chickadees, common sparrows and the usual suspects in the form of Blue jays, mockingbirds and woodpeckers. The singing is fabulous!! I have also put up squirrel feeders...much to my disdain they prefer the bird feeders but I don't really care, I just enjoy watching them.
